EXPRESS Mobilift AXR - Wheelchair lift for regional aircraft
Boarding lift for disabled travelersA safe, efficient way to ground board narrow-body jets The Express Mobilift AXR has a maximum sill height reach of 110", allowing it to access the A321, A320, A319, A318, Boeing 717-200, Boeing 727, 737, DC-9, and MD80. The AXR also accesses the full range of turbo props and regional jets. The Express Mobilift AXR is the most common boarding lift in North America, serving over half of the airports in Canada and the US. Adaptive Engineering USA LLC is known for innovation and design intelligence, and the Mobilift AXR reflects both. In service since 1995, the Mobilift AXR has a service record of thousands of cycles with hundreds of units around the world. Fast cycle timeMobilift AXR operation is fast, to maintain short turn times. Once at the aircraft, it takes 20 seconds to lift to full height. A complete deployment cycle is about two minutes. Manual positioning at the plane is also quicker than joystick control because of greater control, precision, and fewer adjustments. The lift posts can also be marked for common aircraft, for quicker set up. User-friendly, manual operationThe Mobilift AXR lifts the passenger with a high-efficiency crank system. Energy stored in counterbalance springs releases as the lift goes up, making crank operation light. ReliableWhether a lift is used frequently or once a year, it must function for the passenger who needs it. There are no batteries, hydraulic or electric components, common causes of failure in other lifts. Because it is these same components that fail in extreme weather conditions, the Mobilift has near-perfect performance in cold temperatures, rain, snow or heat. Also, the only maintenance requirement is a yearly safety inspection. Safety for the passenger and operatorThe lift deck is supported at all four corners, instead of being cantilevered from a tower. This feels more secure to the person on the lift. The drive also moves smoothly, without jerking and halting. As well, dual handrails offer support for standing passengers who may not be able to use stairs. The lift also meets the stringent FAA stability requirements for high wind load. Aircraft damage protectionThe operator has the following advantages with the Mobilift AXR: the lift turns on its center, has clear lines of sight from every angle, and starts and stops with precision. Most boarding lifts have towers or solid sides which make visibility while maneuvering difficult. These advantages eliminate common risks for accidental contact with the plane. The brakes also engage whenever the operator is not actively pushing the lift, to prevent uncontrolled movement. Finally, the ramp into the plane has non-marking, protective bumpers where it contacts the sill. Features and safety items
