The Express Jetbridge Bag Lift (patent pending) automates and speeds up movement of planeside baggage between jetbridge and aircraft and takes strain off employees.

An efficient two-step system

For an inbound plane, an Express Valet Cart is loaded with bags at the plane and brought over to the lift. A standard bag cart fits into the cartridge of the Express Jetbridge Bag Lift and lifts up to the jetbridge platform. Because the same cart is used at the plane and in the cartridge, bags don't get double handled. Outbound baggage works the same way in reverse.

Faster and safer

Because the lift can move a high volume of bags at once, bag handling takes less time and passengers can move out of the congested cab area faster. A large number of bags can be moved in a single, quick cycle. This replaces many trips by hand per flight up and down stairs. It also eliminates the risk of falling on the stairs when conditions are wet or icy and dramatically reduces the risk of employee back strain.

Capacity and compatibility

Capacity is 500 lbs. (Express JBL500) or 1000 lbs. (Express JBL1000) of baggage and a single operator can use the lift unassisted. The lift moves smoothly ground to platform height in 8 seconds (typical RJ) with a soft start and stop and uses a standard up/down control with emergency stop. Safety interlocks stop the lift from going up or down if it contacts an obstacle.

The lift will adapt to the range of movement of the jetbridge and is compatible with all jetbridge heights.

Flexible cartridge concept

The lift will handle scooters, powered wheelchairs, Adaptive's Express Valet Cart and the lift platform can be ordered to accommodate different sized carry-on bag carts.

A working addition to the jetbridge

The Fixed Express Bag Lift attaches to the undercarriage of the jetbridge, similar to the way a ground power unit does. The flexible mounting system is approved by major jetbridge manufacturers and does not interfere with normal jetbridge operation or movement. Installing the lift requires no modification to the jetbridge. The lift can also attach anywhere along the tunnel where jetbridge structure permits.

The most common mounting point is on the stair platform because it's the most efficient place to load bags. The lift can be made to work with an installed luggage chute if there is one.
